Today we will conclude the series of why kids misbehave by looking at the last of the discipline personality types – the Lamb. We began this series looking at four discoveries that Dr. Greg Cynaumon identified as he analyzed 147 different families. Next, we identified ways for parents to determine their child’s discipline personality type. The personality types range from Bear, Monkey, and Porcupine, and once identified, each personality type offers quick strategies to help bring the misbehaviors into line. Today’s article looks at the last discipline personality type, the Lamb.

Over the past several days, we’ve pulled portions from Dr. Greg Chynaumon’s book “Discover Your Child’s D.Q. Factor” as we look at ways to handle kids and their misbehavior. Dr. Chynaumon shared with us four discoveries as to why children misbehave and then gave us insight on how to identify our child’s discipline personality type. Dr. Chynaumon identified four types of discipline personalities Bear, Monkey, Porcupine and Lamb. Tomorrow, we will conclude the series by looking at the last discipline personality type known as the Lamb. Today though, we are looking at the discipline personality type called the Porcupine. I can identify with the Porcupine personality due to the fact that my oldest is definitley one. I have found that in situations where my oldest is misbehaving, verbal reprimands and the loss of privleges work extremely well.

I admit it… being a parent can be tough! Especially when dealing with the aspect of discipline. Then add the complexity of multiple kids and quickly one discovers that what works for one child doesn’t work for the other child. As I was researching ways to handle discipline with my two year old and five year old, I came across an article about Dr. Greg Cyaumon’s research as to why kids misbehave and a strategy on how to handle the misbehavior. Dr. Greg Cynaumon surveyed 147 different families over a course of 16 months and made four interesting discoveries as to why kids misbehave.
