Read MoreIs your 10-15 year old ready for sex?
It would appear that one school district thinks they are. ABC News reported on a school district in Portland, Maine that’s making birth control pills available to it’s students via the school health center. The King Middle School Committee voted seven to two in favor of offering the contraceptive. By making the pill available to students, is the school leadership telling the students it’s okay for you to be having sex or is it an instance of the students are already doing it, let’s make sure an unwanted pregnancy doesn’t happen? Expecting parents are often told they need all sorts of items in order to provide the best upbringing for their child. I remember my wife and I were told we needed to have a Diaper Genie. If we had one the odor of diapers would simply disappear. Not true. We found that a simple plastic grocery bag worked just as good if not better. There are many products out there that we really don’t need and were a waste of our money.
