Over the counter medicine might be pulled for kids under 6

medicineDoctors are petitioning the FDA to pull over the counter medications for kids under six years of age off the shelves citing deaths, hallucinations, seizures and heart-rhythm disturbances when the medicines are pulled.

What does this mean for parents? It would potentially mean that parents would have to visit the doctor in order to get any type of medication for their child when dealing with a fever, stuffy nose, or coughing. This in turns means more money for doctors. One interesting note is that in 27 years of these medications being available over the counter is the fact that there have only been 123 deaths related to these medications.
